Mitt Romney’s pick for vice president didn’t help bring more New Yorkers to his side, a poll revealed Tuesday.
The GOP presidential candidate had an unfavorable rating of 61% in a Siena College poll, while President Barack Obama had a 64% favorable rating.
Sienna pollster Steven Greenberg said Romney’s choice of Rep. Paul Ryan may have hurt more than helped in the eyes of New Yorkers.
“Only 16% of voters said the Ryan selection made them more likely to support Romney, while 21% said it made them less likely, and a majority of 62% said it had no effect,” he said in a statement.
Last month, Romney had a 59% unfavorable rating in the same poll.
