A Facebook group, with 2,500 members and counting, is coming to the defense of Anthony Weiner’s wife after she was accused by some Tea Party members of being tied to a Muslim Brotherhood conspiracy.

Launched Thursday, “I Stand by Huma” was filled with members who said they were appalled by the attacks by several House members against Huma Abedin.

Abedin, who talked to People magazine this week about her happy marriage to the disgraced congressman, is the deputy chief of staff of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Former presidetial candidate Michelle Bachmann and four other Tea Party members sent letters to the Department of Defense asking it to investigate a Muslim conspiracy to infiltrate the American government.

“She has done absolutely nothing to deserve this vicious attack . . . except to be a Muslim and a Democrat,” Susan Low, one of the Facebook fans posted..

The page’s administrator, Travis Worl, a Washington D.C. resident who is part of the “Hillary for President” Facebook network, did not return messages for comment.

House Speaker John Boehner, a Republic, calling the attacks on Abedin “pretty dangerous.”

“I don’t know Huma, but from everything that I do know of her, she has a sterling character,” he said.
