A U.S. Open referee was busted Tuesday for allegedly murdering her 80-year-old husband in Los Angeles, authorities said.

Lois Goodman, 70, was awaiting extradition Tuesday to Los Angeles to face murder charges in the death of her husband in April. Los Angeles police say Alan Goodman, 80, was bludgeoned to death with a coffee mug in the couple’s home.

Investigators then couldn’t determine if foul play was involved but on Aug. 2, they ruled the death a homicide and named Lois Goodman as the prime suspect.

The Los Angeles district attorney’s office issued an arrest warrant for the ref last week but couldn’t arrest Goodman, because she was she was in New York preparing for the U.S. Open, which starts next week.

L.A. detectives flew to New York Tuesday morning and apprehended Lois Goodman without incident, according to the police.

The NYPD said it provided assistance to the West Coast officers but wouldn’t give further details.

Lois Goodman was expected to be held in a Manhattan jail for the time being. If convicted on her murder charge, she faces life in prison, the Los Angeles district attorney’s office said.
