Anyone entering Queens this weekend through John F. Kennedy International Airport is going to get a big bright reminder that this is Jets territory.

The Port Authority will be lighting the airport’s control tower green this weekend in honor of New York’s NFL team that will be playing Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers for a berth in the Super Bowl.

Although the AFC Championship Game is being played in Pennsylvania, the PA said it wanted to show support for the Jets with the lighting and will keep it on until the end of the game Sunday night.

The Jets have not made the Super Bowl since 1969, but came close to the big game last year when they reached the AFC Championship Game against the Indianapolis Colts.

This is not the first time JFK has shown its colors in support of a cause. The tower was lit pink in October in recognition of breast cancer awareness month.
