It’s getting down to the wire for the Village Halloween Parade and organizers are asking ghoul fans to lend a financial hand.

The parade’s Kickstarter campaign has until midnight Monday to meet its $50,000 goal to save this year’s event. As of Tuesday night, 760 backers had pledged $43,199.

Organizers said last year’s cancellation due to Superstorm Sandy left them with thousands of dollars in debt to sponsors who lost money. Several sponsors haven’t returned, while others pledged less money and they need assistance to hold the parade, which has been running since 1973, a reality this year.
